Lithuanian Christmas Fair 2008

December 4-6 saw Lithuanian Christmas Fair organized in Stratford for the second year in a row. This winter it was attended by even more participants - there were more businesses, representing both - Lithuanian and local craftsmen.
For the official opening of the Fair, Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the UK invited representatives from Newham council and Lithuanian Embassy in the UK. Their welcoming speeches were followed by traditional Christmas songs.
The Meridian Square in Stratford was overwhelmed by Lithuanian crafts, books, traditional music and food. Some of visitors were trying new dishes deliberately, but for most of Lithuanian visitors it was a perfect opportunity to bring home something national just befor Christmas time.
